Alvernia's post-baccalaureate certification programs for educators are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Certification coursework may be applied to earning a Master of Education or Ph.D. in Leadership degree. Individual courses may be taken as Act 48 credits.
Alvernia’s Early Childhood Education (PK-4) and Special Education (PK-12) Certifications dual major unlocks an unlimited career potential. The program prepares teachers for preschool through Grade 4 and special education teachers in public and private educational institutions. The program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The dual certification allows program graduates to work as:
• Elementary educators (preschool though Grade 4)
• Special education teachers and learning support specialists (preschool though Grade 12)
in public and private educational institutions.

Are you a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) ready to take your career to the next level? Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s COTA-to-MSOT Bridge Program provides a seamless pathway from your Associate Degree to a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) through the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Science. This bridge program is designed specifically for licensed OTAs who want to become occupational therapists.
Through a newly established partnership between Alpha Aviation, Reading Regional Airport, Â鶹¹ÙÍø's O'Pake Institute for Economic Development, and other regional workforce development leaders, Berks County is building a local pipeline into commercial drone aviation. Together, we are expanding access to a rapidly growing industry, creating a local pathway into commercial drone aviation for students, career changers, veterans, and entrepreneurs.

A fascinating major and an applied science, psychology prepares students for careers in virtually any industry. It also prepares you for life by teaching important skills like communication and critical thinking. In addition to participating in real-world learning through internships and service learning experiences, psychology majors at Alvernia conduct collaborative research alongside faculty scholars.
The Marketing program at Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s Header School of Business explores and examines the ever-evolving complexities of the marketing industry, delving into such important topics as accounting, business law, statistics, corporate finance, consumer behavior, advertising and promotion. The learning experience expands far beyond textbooks, strengthened by a state-of-the-art business lab featuring the Bloomberg Terminal, and the O'Pake Institute for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship, which offers resources to students and businesses to assist with economic development.
Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s Engineering Experience and Professional Skills (EEPS) minor helps engineering and engineering technology majors turn classroom learning into real-world engineering experience. Through approved internships, research experiences, technical writing, project management, professional ethics, and faculty guidance, students build a transcripted credential that highlights practical experience and career readiness. The EEPS Minor is designed for students who want to build experience before graduation, including first-year engineering students planning ahead, community college transfer students, and 2+3 engineering pathway students.
The Master of Education with Principal (PK-12) Certification Program is designed to enhance the scholarly and professional development of classroom teachers who aspire to gain an administrative position. The program prepares future educational leaders to interact successfully with students, teachers, parents, school board members, and the community at large. The program prepares educators to meet the Pennsylvania Principal (PK-12) Certification requirements. Students graduate with a Master of Education degree and Principal Certification which gives a strong impetus to their career development.
The Master of Education with Special Education Certification (Grades PK-12) Program prepares educators for a master's degree with Pennsylvania certification in special education. This program is for educators who hold another teaching certification and would like to be successful in a variety of inclusive special education classroom settings. To enhance their understanding of working with children with various abilities and disabilities, students are required to complete classroom field experiences, pre-student teaching, and six weeks of student teaching.
